This is a skilled position responsible for assembling, connecting, and constructing concrete, plastic, ductile, or cast-iron pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Installing and/or using instruments such as lasers, grade rods, or transit levels.
Connecting pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue.
Installing or repairing sanitary or stormwater sewer structures or pipe systems Aligning and positioning pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing Grading or leveling trench bases, using tamping machines or hand tools Performing all work safely and efficiently while also communicating with onsite equipment operators Tapping and drilling holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices Cutting pipes to required lengths Locating existing pipes needing repair or replacement, using mechanic or radio indicators Education and/or Experience Qualifications Highschool diploma or equivalent 3-5 years proven experience as pipelayer Valid Driver's License Competencies Good Work Ethic Strong Interpersonal Skills Physical Demands Must be physically fit to perform manual labor Must be able to lift 50lbs or more Job Type:
